Cyberman
I just watched "Turn Left" on SciFi last night. In general, I found the deletions to be fairly minor. However, people might want to know that the Sontarans were defeated by Torchwood -- all died but Jack, who was transported to their homeworld, and thus for all intents and purposes was gone. But that was the only deletion that seems worth commenting on.

They also left out most of the scene where the Italian housemates were shipped off to a labor camp & Wilf reacted to it, which drained most of the meaning from the scene, and (comparatively trivial but one of my favorite bits) Donna & the Doctor having fun drinking a frothy beverage (alien bubble tea!) at the very start.

*I* want to drink alien bubble tea with the Doctor.

Yeah, I did notice those deletions, but I didn't think they were as fan-noteworthy as the Torchwood deletion. I mean, yes, the emotional punch of the labor camp scene would have been stronger with the full scene in place, but I can understand why it was sacrificed to the timing gods.

The uncut version of "Turn Left" ran to 49:23 on BBC-1.

Also of note to SciFi viewers: "Journey's End," Part 2 of the Season finale, will air on August 1st at the earlier time of 8:30pm. The episode ran to 1:03:03 on BBC-1, so SciFi is giving it a 90-minute slot.

The last time I checked the schedule, they hadn't given it more than an hour, so I'm glad they changed that. As much as it made me ranty in spots (like the ending), I'm still looking forward to seeing it again.

Interesting! I hadn't given the cutting much thought. I would have liked to see Jack, even for a split second.

He wasn't seen, just mentioned, much like everyone else who was at best seen on television or simply mentioned by someone on TV.
